KNIGHTRESSM1 is the solo project of Emily Palen, violinist, pianist, composer, vocalist and founder of the Paris based metal band now called KNIGHTRESS.

KNIGHTRESSM1 is the full encompassed world of the inner superhero fleshed out in Emily’s free-willed explorations spilling out into ruleless electronica compositions. Her signature string arrangements are set upon a bedrock of heavy original beats, deep bass and a vast array of dark sonic textures. Her vocals push up into the upper registers on this recording, showcasing her more vulnerable side.

The full album “A Thousand Suns” will be released in 2024.

The upcoming full album “The Sentient Condition” from her metal band will be released at the end of 2024.

The splitting of these projects comes after her move to Paris where she has fully established the band in France. The name split differentiates between the singular identifier of M1 which has individual meaning to her own personal avatar while Knightress standing on its own, refers to the archetype of the warrior, typically female however also embodied in a masculine who deeply honors the feminine. As the feminine rises back on the planet, all those who embody both aspects of feminine and masculine in their original blueprint will inherently understand the importance of the feminine reverence.

It is in these two worlds that we continue to explore consciousness, ever-expanding, through the infinite language of music, color and art. The information filtered down through this medium continues to save us from our recklessness and it is because of this, that we will always step forward. Again. And again into the unknown.
